Under the norms of the Code of Canon Law and having duly consulted with the Presbyteral Council, the Ministerial Personnel and Placement Board, and the pastoral leaders of the affected parishes, Bishop Barnes hereby establishes a new parish community, BLESSED JOHN XXIII PARISH, FONTANA, effective July 1, 2006. This new parish will be comprised of the consolidation of St. Thomas More Parish in Rialto and Resurrection Parish in Fontana. Reverend Leonard Krzywda, CR, is appointed as the founding Pastor of this new parish effective July 1, 2006 for a term of six (6) years. Reverend Timothy Jernejcic is appointed Interim Administrator with residence at the Rialto site of the new parish for a term of one (1) year. We congratulate Fathers Krzywda and Jernejcic on receiving this important pastoral assignment from Bishop Barnes. Please keep the families of Blessed John XXIII Parish in your prayers as they begin this important work of bringing together the faith communities in Fontana and Rialto.
